Great Tips On How To Become A Better Writer

You want to write better, more engaging articles and content, right? You want to get your message across and you want your call to action, well, actioned right? When it comes to being a better writer, it would start with you.

Reading what you have written for a reason is what your readers and maybe your potential customers or clients would do. The reason why they read is because they want to gain something from it. THEY want to gain something. Things they are not interested in are your motivations and your goals. They want to find out how what you are writing can benefit THEM. People is one way to describe people. Even when they are not trying to be. They are greedy at a subconscious level.

How many times have you read an article or blog and stopped reading half way through? There may have been times when you thought a particular person really enjoys talking about himself. And don’t you just hate conversations when someone else always talks about themselves?

Why You Should Focus on Your Reader

When you are writing, and especially when you are writing to sell something, focus on your reader. They might not care about how great your product is, they only care about how great it will be to them. Using words like “you” and “your” is a good idea. Make your reader feel how much it is going to benefit THEM.

Do a test. Try different versions of your writing and see which performs best. You may even be surprised by the results. If you minimize the use of “I,” “we,” and “our” and increase the use of “you” and “your,” then it’s likely your sales could increase to 60% or even more. That’s a lot!

Asking Questions

Asking your readers questions is also a great way to engage them. You should try to make them think. There are questions you want them to ask, so make them ask these questions. These should be questions that you have an answer for. Lead them down the path and have a specific call to action.

To drive more visitors to your website, use these techniques in your articles and on your website so that you can increase conversions and boost sales. As you’re writing, always keep the customer in the back of your mind and you will reap the benefits.
