Naturally, if you are unable to distinctly communicate with customers and clients, none of the rest of it will actually matter. Good communication involves more than merely creating a well-written sales page. You can get a highly proficient copywriter to do that for you. A pretty website and extensive FAQ are not what you need for good communication. A skilled designer and writer can do those things. If you want to be a good communicator, you must develop interpersonal communication skills, not merely direct copywriting. So what is it that you need to do? 1. Reply to each and every email you receive within 24 hours of it hitting your inbox. This is not a jest. You don’t need to write a long note for every last mail. All you need to do is inform the sender that you have read the email and will be responding to it in more detail shortly. Try to include a reference to something they’ve written when you do this. This helps the person you email tell your mail apart from the automated replies that other online marketers employ. 2. Answer your phone. Don’t screen calls. Whenever your telephone starts to ring, pick it up by the third ring. Do this even if you genuinely don’t want to talk to the person on the other end. There is, however, an exemption to this rule. You don’t have to be anxious about being near your telephone 24 hours a day. What you should do is specify clear business hours during which you will be available to talk on the phone. Put these hours up on your website and state them in your voice mail message. And, finally, always return your calls. 3. Ensure that the people you send messages and emails to really have gotten those emails. This shows the your customer that you value him or her. You’ll endear yourself more with the people you work with and who buy from if you ask them if they have any questions and check to make certain that they understood the points you were trying to make.
